16 Mark Question

Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of a sitemap as a planning tool for a website (16) A site map is a way of showing its customer what will be on a website and how to access it. Its made to show what images, pages and files will be on a website.  An advantage of using a sitemap is that if its made well it will be easy to understand for everyone. This is important because people will need to understand your ideas for the website to be what you want. its also easy to read as its so simple. A sitemap also allows you to understand what will be needed for the website to work before the designing phase begins.  Some disadvantages of a sitemap include that there isn't information regarding the pages other than the content that will be available on the pages of the website. it also doesn't show a layout of the websites pages. This is argued as a disadvantage because theirs a lack of information but, its only meant to be a draft of the website not the final thing.  Another ...

Evaluations

Justification of content •Once a pre-production document has been produced, content needs to be analysed and checked to ensure that it is adequate for the purpose it was designed for. Does the content meet the needs of the client? If it does not, production phase cannot start. The content can be reviewed in discussion with the client and target audience focus groups. Evaluation of Suitability for Purpose •The pre-production documents are used to provide the various personnel involved in project with the information that they will require to produce the project. It is with this purpose in mind that these documents need to be evaluated. Do they provide enough  information for the members of the production team to produce the product in line with the proposal? The documents can be shown to the lead members of each team to check that they are clear about what is required during their phase of the production. Evaluation of Suitability for Audience The effectiveness of the pre-pro...

Risk Assessment

Image
A risk assessment is  the process of identifying what hazards exist, or may appear in the workplace, how they may cause harm and to take steps to minimise harm .  Risk assessments are very important as  they form an integral part of an occupational health and safety management plan . They help  too : Create awareness of hazards and risk. One risk in this  image  is the open fire. This is because the baby could fall into it.  The iron on the ironing board is a risk because if the ironing board gets knocked it could fall on the babies head.  The corners on the coffee table are a risk as the baby could hit its head. Another risk is the plug socket because if the baby put its metal in there it could die of electrocution. Also, another risk is the string on the ballon and blind because it could strangle itself.

Proposals, Project outlines and Treatment documents

Proposal documents After the pre-production research has been carried out and the initial idea of the project has been firmed up, the first step is to communicate this idea to the client.  To do this, a proposal document is created.  This document can be created and delivered in a variety of different ways, from a word-processed document that is sent to a client, to taking the form of a pitch at a meeting.  The purpose of the proposal is to ‘sell’ your idea to the client so that they give you the ‘green light’ to develop the project.  The proposal may be known as a high-concept document. The audience for a proposal is normally a non-technical audience so the proposal needs to be written using non-technical language that is easy to understand.  However, there needs to be enough detail in the proposal that the client is clear about what you want to create.  The level of detail will vary depending on how the proposal...

Call Sheet  – sometimes called a daily planner, this  document is used to ensure that on each day everyone involved in the production process knows what is happening and what their role is, ensuring that the production is successful.  Listed on this document will be the personnel needed, the resources required, the location they are needed at and when.  By using a daily planner or call sheet there is little room for people to be confused and for aspects of the production to go wrong.

Project Management Software
